WHO WE ARE



TABR Capital Management is your professional partner for managing your financial affairs. Because we are totally independent – not affiliated with any other firm and therefore not receiving compensation from the sale of any financial products – you get unbiased, customized financial blueprints specifically designed to turn your dreams into reality. Since risk is an unavoidable element of any investment, risk management is at the core of the firm's values and investment approach.
 
You can trust us because of our wealth of experience. Only after we understand your needs, goals and risk tolerance, do we take action on your behalf. We manage over $150 million of personal and client capital on a discretionary basis, using the same tried and true investment strategies for clients as we use for our own personal investments.

Robert M. Kargenian, CMT  
President/Principal

Robert (Bob) Kargenian founded TABR Capital Management, LLC in January 2004.  Bob has been a Chartered Market Technician and Professional Member of the Market Technicians Association since 1989.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Administration from California State University, Fullerton.
 
Prior to founding TABR, Bob was employed at Prudential Securities, Wachovia Securities and E.F. Hutton & Company. Before entering the financial services industry, he served as Assistant Director of Public Relations for the California Angels.
 
Bob's stock market research has appeared in Technical Analysis of Stocks & Commodities as well as in a special report published by Gerald Appel of Signalert Corporation. He is a contributing author to Financial Savvy for the Small Business Owner, (Financial Forum Publishing, 2009).
 
Bob is a member of the Paladin Registry, an independent resource for fiduciary investment professionals.  He and his wife, Michelle, live with their son and daughter in Yorba Linda, California.
 
     

Steven W. Medland, CFP® 
Partner/Principal

Co-founder Steve Medland holds an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering Systems from the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York.  Steve is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional.
 
Prior to joining TABR, Steve served as a submarine officer and nuclear engineer in the United States Navy.  He subsequently served as Department Head of Navy Officer Programs from 1997 to 2000, and he currently holds the rank of lieutenant commander in the United States Naval Reserve.
 
After graduating from Wharton in 2002 and prior to co-founding TABR Capital Management, he was a Financial Associate at Prudential Securities/Wachovia Securities.
 
Steve has been quoted in several major publications, including BusinessWeek, Newsweek, and U.S. News & World Report.  He is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the Financial Planning Association® (FPA®), and the Paladin Registry, an independent resource for fiduciary investment professionals. He and his wife, Kim, live with their daughter and son in Irvine, California.
 
             
       


Mary Hernandez
Office Manager

Mary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Fresno State University.  She was employed at Bank of America for 21 years in a variety of positions, including 10 years in the internal audit department.  She also served as an Account Administrator for Bob Kargenian at Prudential Securities/Wachovia Securities.
 
Mary is responsible for the firm's payroll and bookkeeping functions, invoicing, maintenance of its portfolio management system, and overall office management.
 
She and her husband, Richard, reside in Placentia, California with their daughter.
 

 

 


Sylvia Bazan
Office Administrator
 
Sylvia was employed for 21 years by the Bank of America Mortgage Group, serving in a variety of positions including Systems Control Specialist, Senior Accounting Clerk and an Accountant in the Operations Control Division, prior to joining TABR.
 
She also worked with Bob Kargenian at Prudential Securities/Wachovia Securities as his Administrative Assistant.
 
Sylvia is responsible for account administration including processing new account paperwork, account transfers, check requests, journals and changes of address. 

Her responsibilities also involve reconciliation of daily trade files and maintenance of the firm's trading ledger.
 
Sylvia and her husband, Carlos, reside in Fountain Valley, California.
